36 Ice Cream, Nice Cream, FroYo and Popsicle Recipes

May 17, 2020 by Ginger Hultin MS RDN

My dietitian friends have such incredible recipes and they also have a super power: making simple, easy recipes taste incredibly delicious. We are absolute masters of creating allergen-free recipes. No dairy? No problem! Nut-free? Easy! Soy-free? We’ve got you. When I was making my banana split nice-cream recipe up on the blog I realized that I wanted to share that with you but I also wanted to share other ice cream, nice-cream, fro-yo and popsicle recipes from all my talented recipe blogger medical professional registered dietitian nutritionist friends. So here you are – a completely updated 32 Ice Cream, Nice Cream, FroYo and Popsicle Recipes post. Enjoy and if you try any of them, make sure to leave a comment down below.

Vegan Nice-cream

If you don’t eat dairy – for an allergy, preference or because you’re a vegan – you still deserve ice cream! And guess what? You can have it! Actually, the number one reason I talk to my clients about this type of recipe has nothing to do with dietary restrictions. It actually has to do with the fact that they’ve got some health goals. Whether it’s fewer calories, less saturated fat, or more fiber, recipes like this are exactly what you need to have your ice cream and eat it, too.

Ice Cream

Ice cream is so awesome. I’m a chocolate ice cream kind of person and you really can’t beat the creaminess that comes along with a bunch of high fat cream and sugar with added natural flavors that taste so amazing chilled.

Frozen yogurt has a place in a sweet-treat round-up. It’ s not ice cream but it’s not non-dairy, either. It’s frozen yogurt which means it’s generally a lower-fat yet flavorful frozen treat. You can find these stores popped up all over the place here in Seattle but you can also make your own and this is how you do it…
